I don’t think we say thank you enough, do you?

I have a lot to be thankful for…

way way back many centuries ago, not long after the bible began…

Well perhaps not that far back , but a few short years ago on this day, I was born and so today celebrate the fact with my family and friends, who never fail to stop spoiling me rotten.

So to them I say Thank You.

I also want to take a moment today to say thanks to the wonderful digital scrapbook sites that I belong to, which help me greatly with my memory keeping responsibilities.

• Digital Scrapper - Where you can learn by reading or watching digi scrap tutorials (if you want to try them out you can sign up for free information.  I have been a premier member (paid subscription) for over a year now and love the community and the excellent guidance received.
• Renee Pearson The classes and instructors here are fantastic (Laura Coyle and Tiffany Tillman to name but two great teachers whose classes I’ve taken recently) , I can highly recommend taking a class.  The way the class content is provided is excellent and a joy to watch.
• SuzyQ Scraps for her marvelous Designer Essentials Illustrator Class and Chelle’s Creations for her wonderful Designer Essentials Photoshop class (both available from  Scrap Orchard.)

Artistic Style Digital Scrapbook Template

Today we learned the artistic style of scrapbooking which uses mainly blend modes and brushes to create an artsy feel to our pages.

I think of the three styles I lean more towards this one, though I can’t imagine limiting myself to one particular style all the time…

Mix, match and create, don’t be limited to one particular style just do what feels and looks good to you.

Playground Trendy Templates

Today in Tiffany Tillmans class I’ve been learning about playground trendy scrapbooking, which uses templates that are unpredictable in design.  This style uses more groupings of elements along with a couple of photographs.

Yesterday I learned about linear graphic style digital scrapbooking and tomorrow it’s the artistic style, can’t wait.

 Linear Graphic Style Digital Scrapbooking

I’m taking a class at the moment over on Renee Pearson dot com (it’s the last day today before this class is retired, so get on over if you want to learn about template scrapbooking, before it’s gone for good.)

Today I’ve been learning about the linear graphic style of scrapbooking and how to use the provided templates.  This style has strong lines with one main photo and a couple of supporting ones, it also uses only a few extra elements.

I like this style of page clean and focused on the photographs with a small journalling block telling the story, nice!

 Christmas Tradition

Each Christmas we decorate a Gingerbread House.

This year was no exception…

I must admit as the years go by, I’ve noted a marked improvement in our decorating skills!

2011 was our best effort yet.

This week the Digital Scrapper newsletter provided a tip on how to use guides in photoshop.

The tip showed how to place a single photograph on the page (like the rule of thirds in photography) to create a simple, clean, scrapbooking layout.

Here Comes the Summer Sun….Well not quite yet, but one can dream.

This photo was taken on one of our many visits to Chatham, walking along the beach we came across this rusty old fence… when I got home I just had to play around in Photoshop to enhance the rust!

Templates are a great way to get a page scrapped in super quick time.

Today I used a free template and followed along with a video tutorial by Linda Sattgast showing how to place a photo across two photo openings, while keeping them perfectly aligned.
