Creating a scrapbook page today (while trying out a couple of tutorials)…

I had a lovely trip down memory lane…

and I thought you might just enjoy tagging along …

so here’s what happened…

Well I was thinking of the journaling I wanted to include with my page, thinking back to what I was feeling that day…

It was cold wet, a really dull drab day (when I took the photograph in Newport), everything was gray and I remembered thinking …

Bring me sunshine….

My mind often does that, wanders off to old songs and this time was no exception off it trotted… straight to Eric and Ernie’s door….

Do you remember the Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise Show?

I used to absolutely adore that show and the song lyrics of Give Me Sunshine made the perfect addition for the journaling on my page.

One thing lead to another, as it usually does when I visit YouTube….

… and I found this little gem

if this doesn’t make you smile… you’re as cold as ice (Foreigner)

(there I go again mind wandering …. new song…. new page to create.)

Digi Scrap Page – Newport

We recently visited Newport Rhode Island for a few days and had a fantastic time.

One of the highlights of the trip (and there were many) was a visit to the National Museum of American Illustration and all I can say is wow…

How anyone could possibly believe that illustrators are not artists, well in my opinion they defiantly need thier heads examined.

Absolutely fantastic works of art from entering the museum and around every corner we took, all of my family were simply blown away.

Most excellent trip had by all.

…another page scrapped another memory saved.

The One Skill that Makes a Scrappers Page Pop

What is it, what’s the one skill that you need to make every page pop?

Is it technical skills in Photoshop or Elements? Is it the latest and greatest scrapbook page kit? Is it the newest action or template?

I’m sorry you’re wrong as important as these skills or products are, they’re just steps in a process all of which can be learned through tutorials, or bought at the store.

What scrappers need most isn’t more tutorials . It’s the ability to pour love into a page.

You must let your creative flow

Don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing it wrong. This is a creative process let your page tell your story using the techniques you want to use when you want to use them.

There is no right or wrong, mix it up create the love.

I don’t think we say thank you enough, do you?

I have a lot to be thankful for…

way way back many centuries ago, not long after the bible began…

Well perhaps not that far back , but a few short years ago on this day, I was born and so today celebrate the fact with my family and friends, who never fail to stop spoiling me rotten.

So to them I say Thank You.

I also want to take a moment today to say thanks to the wonderful digital scrapbook sites that I belong to, which help me greatly with my memory keeping responsibilities.

Digital Scrapbooking Sites

Digital Scrapper - Where you can learn by reading or watching digi scrap tutorials (if you want to try them out you can sign up for free information. I have been a premier member (paid subscription) for over a year now and love the community and the excellent guidance received.
Renee Pearson The classes and instructors here are fantastic (Laura Coyle and Tiffany Tillman to name but two great teachers whose classes I’ve taken recently) , I can highly recommend taking a class. The way the class content is provided is excellent and a joy to watch.
SuzyQ Scraps for her marvelous Designer Essentials Illustrator Class and Chelle’s Creations for her wonderful Designer Essentials Photoshop class (both available from Scrap Orchard.)
