Today I decided I would try to create a piece of digital scrapbook paper for a scrapbook page I am creating of a recent visit to Butterfly World.

The Butterflies were such amazing colors that I wanted the photograph to really stand out against the scrapbooking paper, not for the paper to distract from the photograph.

I decided to use part of the original photograph as the base for the scrapbook paper, added the green color and various filters to make the leaves a little less flat.

Do you think the paper distracts from the photograph?  Would love to get your comments.

Today I created a beach effect digital scrapbook paper, by blending together two papers that I had created using my scrapbooking software.

One of the papers was a photograph I had taken of a lighthouse beach scene which I blended in with the pale green paper below.

I added the photographs, some text and photo corners and created my summer 2008 scrapbooking page.

Just a quick extra post tonight, as I received an email today with some photo's from my main man in the North East.  Congratulations on your 18th Birthday, thought you might enjoy this 18 bottle salute.  Wish we could have been with you for all the celebrations.  Just Click on the picture to see a larger image.

Today I used Photoshop which by the way is my software of choice when it comes to digital scrapbooking, to try and improve the general overall look of the photograph.

I tried to make the colors pop in the sea and in the sand, removed distracting objects (sorry girls you know I love you really but just this once you are not in the photo!) then added a simple black and white edge to match the photo from yesterday.

I wanted a photograph of the beach and the sea for my scrapbook layout because this was how we spent many enjoyable days over the summer.

The next step will be to create the background paper for these photographs.
